Meet Ameer
Ameer Attawar grew up with a deep love for cooking — the kind of love that turns simple ingredients into something people remember. As a Palestinian cook in the Bay Area, Ameer started Knafe Bay Area to share one of the most beloved desserts from his culture: warm, golden knafe made with care, patience, and hospitality.
For Ameer, this is more than dessert. It's a way to welcome people, tell a story, and bring a piece of Palestinian tradition to homes, gatherings, and celebrations across the Bay Area.

What is Knafe?
Knafe is a beloved Palestinian and Middle Eastern dessert known for its crispy golden kataifi pastry, warm cheese filling, fragrant syrup, and crushed pistachios. It's rich, comforting, and meant to be shared.
Crispy golden kataifi
Fine shredded pastry, toasted slow until it turns into golden, shattering strands.
Warm sweet cheese
A soft, gently sweet cheese center that stays warm and pulls with every slice.
Fragrant syrup
Lightly scented sugar syrup, poured warm so it soaks all the way through.
Crushed pistachios
A bright green scatter of pistachios across the top — for color, crunch, and aroma.
